What is SEO or Search Engine Optimization? SEO is the process of directing more traffic to a website by coming up higher in the results of search engines such as Google, Yahoo, and MSN. This is very important as most people discover new web sites by researching new products and services via search engines.

There are many tips and tricks to help your site move up in the results of search engines. Which honestly, the methods I use would be more like details than tricks. They're the details that many developrers (even highly experienced developers) overlook. Details like making sure the title of a webpage doesn't say "page1" and instead has the actual meaningful title of the page like "Search Engine Optimization". This lets the search engine's web crawlers have an idea of what the page should be about. A trick would be repeating a keyword over and over throughout a page just to get to the top of the search engine results to blindside someone and try selling them Viagra. Tricks like this can and will get your web site completely removed from the search engine's results all together. Therefore, it's best to play it by the book on this one.
